Mosaic is CISV’s local community-based program. It provides us the opportunity to increase awareness of our organization at the local level, while benefitting our local community. We use the same educational approach as the international programs, but make it much more accessible. Our chapter hosts a Mosaic mini-camp each June. We also host a number of one-time Mosaics throughout the year, where we partner with another like-minded organization to further the benefit to the local community. If you’re new to CISV it’s a great way to get involved!
Our chapter recently completed a Mosaic program with Project WeHOPE, based in East Palo Alto, CA. We worked to collect supplies primarily for its Dignity on Wheels program. Our chapter members organized various collections around the Bay Area. In total, our chapter accounted for approximately $10,000 in donations for those in need.
Our junior branch identified this like-minded organization and implemented the project, learning how to put HOPE into ACTION.
